Easter weekend..... Friday and Saturday....

This afternoon we went for a long walk along the beach.
The weather has been amazing this weekend... it normally rains and starts to get cold around Easter.
The kiddies with Lulu.
Yesterday we went to the beach for a early morning walk.
 I love this cloud....
Orsen did some fishing... while the kids had a swim.
 She's so cute!
I'm exhausted!  All this fresh sea air has made me very tired.
I've just been making all the clues for the Easter hunt tomorrow... can't wait!

How do you celebrate Easter?  Do you have any family Easter traditions?

Hope you're having a wonderful Easter.

Last call out for photos of your hair clips.  I'd love to show everyone your craftiness.
I'll be putting together a 'you've been featured' post next week.

Wordless Wednesday.... Easter tip # 1

Don't leave your Easter eggs in the car, while you stop and run a few errands.

Easter Bunny Hair clips....

It's Easter craft time!
Easter Bunny hair clips... your little {or big} girl will love them.
Step 1 -  Cut four felt ears.
Step 2 - Cut two 'inner ear' shapes from contrasting material and sew onto two of the white felt ears.
Step 3 - Place the two 'right' sides together and sew around the outside of the ears.
Sorry,
I got carried away making the bunny ears and forgot to take a photo of each step.

Step 4 -  Invert back to the right side.  Fold the ends forward and stitch {helps give the ears a nice shape}.
Step 5 - Make a bow out of matching ribbon and sew on a flower.
Step 6 - Hot glue and hand stitch onto a snap hair clip.
They are so cute!  Miss 6 loves them.

Lace hair clip....

Yesterday, I made this lace clip for Miss 6.
When I started making the hair clip, I was going to a double layer of lace.
But decided it looked better as a single layer... I'm going to make another clip, with one less petal.
Step 1 - cut a small felt circle.
Step 2 - hand sew lace..... I folded lace to give a 3D look.
Step 3 - To finish off the middle of the flower, I cut off one piece of lace and sewed on pearl button.
Step 4 - Hot glue a large bobby pin and felt.
My next feature post is going to feature your hair clips.  Email photos or links to your blog post to mummysdress@hotmail.com.
It doesn't have to be from one of my tutorials... just any hair clips you've made.

Black knit dress....

I haven't upcycled any outfits for a few weeks.
 Here's my latest outfit....
It's a black knit dress made from my strapless 'Roxy' knit top.
 Before...
Step 1 -  I tied some elastic onto the drawstring and pulled the string out replacing it with the elastic.
Step 2 - Make ribbon belt.
I had a little accident yesterday.  I fell up the stairs, only I could do something that stupid, Lol!!!
Anyway, I was running to go upstairs and my foot got caught in my dress, I missed the first step and bashed my chin on the hand rail.  I thought 'that's going to leave a bruise', then I saw the blood!  I'm a theatre nurse who doesn't like blood!!!  My neck hyper extended and one side of my face went numb.  When I got to hospital I was put in a neck brace.  The xray's came back clear, no fractures.
They stitched up the 2cm laceration on my chin and I went home.
Today, my neck and jaw are really sore.  I can't eat because it pulls on the stitches.

This morning I got a lovely surprise... my friend Teagen dropped off some treats and magazines.
I can still eat chocolate... it just melts in your mouth :D
Thanks Teags!
