Outfit's by Julie-Ann.....

Last week I received an email from Julie-Ann, she attached some photos of Miss H wearing her repurposed outfits, I just had to share them with you....

Hi Nikki,
Just finished a couple of other up cycled designs thought you might be interested in seeing. The first was a pink ruffled top of mine.
This was a simple change, I just took in the side seams and shoulder seams and turned it into a dress for Miss H. I then added some black leggings, black belt, black flower headband and voila!

Second design was a blue and white summer dress (with a large ugly bow at the front). This was an impulse buy that I thought I could wear (after removing the bow). In the end I decided to totally change it for Miss H.

Before....
After.....
I first cut off the straps, re sewed the top of the dress, took in the side seams, re-hemmed the dress, adjusted and sewed the straps back on and then using some of the blue fabric from the bow sewed it back on around the waist of the dress minus the bow section. This was quite a bit more involved but I was happy with the outcome of it. Matched it with a large white flower clip I made and here is the end result (refer to photo's). I have still quite a bit of fabric left over from the lower section of the original dress so I'm going to try and see what top I can make for Miss H with it too.
I'm loving your upcycles of your daughters old pumpkin patch clothes. I'm a huge fan of pumpkin patch too, and now I'm seeing what I can re-create of Miss H's pumpkin patch wardrobe so we can get a bit more value for money on the clothes.

Enjoy your day
Julz
Thanks for sharing Julie-Ann, they look great!

Summer Dress....

Before.....
I resized the top to fit Miss 6.
Added bows to the shoulders and tied a bow around the middle of the dress.
So pretty, looks great with leggings.
Miss 6's legging are by Sosooki, available at Myer... they're too cute!
Miss 6 lost her 2nd tooth....
the Tooth fairy got lost and took 2 days to come and pick up the tooth... oops!
It's nearly the end of March and today it was mid 30'C {95 F} with an overnight low of 20'C {68 F}.
It's so hot and humid!

Twins ;-)

 The before....
Two matching Pumpkin Patch dresses {size 4 and 7}.
The girls used to love wearing these matching dresses.
Miss 6 grew out of the size 4 and now she wears the size 7.
I got an email from Lisa.... asking for photos of how I repurpose the Pumpkin Patch dresses into skirts.
Step 1...
Step 2.....
Overlock raw edges, turn back top to make a band, iron, pin and sew.
Step 3... thread elastic and sew gap.
So easy, takes about 15 minutes.
Miss 6 {wearing the size 7} and Miss 8 {wearing the size 4}

Twins again... well, sort of :)

Grey knit dress....

I was going to take the kids to the beach this arvo,
to take photos of the girls in the summer outfits I made yesterday.... but it was too wet and cold :(

So, I went through my bag of throw away clothes and found a knit dress to upcycle...
 Before.....
I cut away the white shirt.
Resized the dress and repositioned the straps.
I love knit dresses!
 Miss 8 loving the rain...
Looking at these photos of Miss 8 dancing in the rain made me think of this quote....
"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass,
It's about dancing in the rain."
Happy weekend :)

Grey knit Cardigan....

I haven't worn this grey cardigan for a few years,
so it's time to upcycle it.
Looks good on Miss 8... no alterations needed {even better!}.
I finished sewing a few outfits today.... they look great!
I'm off work until Tuesday so I'll be posting daily for the next few days :)
Stay tuned for photos.

I'd better go get ready... we're heading out soon.
Happy Friday...
