Lace hair clip tutorial....

After I repurposed this tunic,
I got a few emails asking for a tutorial on how to make the hair clip....
OK, it's taken me awhile :)
Better late than never.... right?
Today I'm using denim and lace.
The lace is from Miss 8's dress up 'wedding dress'.
First cut circles,
and sew layers together....
Next cut some lace circles and fold in half.....
 Then fold in half again.....
Place on top of the layered circles.... and stitch in place....
After the first layer, I did a second layer on the outside of the first....
I kept adding the folded lace circles until it was full enough.
Next, I sewed on three pearl buttons...
Then hot glued on the alligator clip.
 Looks so pretty.

Silk flower tutorial....

Want to make one of these cute flower clips?
Here's how....
Take one piece of silky material... satin lining etc,
 and one cute little assistant.
Start by cutting the smallest circle first.
I don't use a template, they don't have to be perfect.
I usually cut around 9 circles, each one slightly bigger than the last.
 Hold your circle {shiny side towards the flame}
just above the flame and turn.
The heat will melt the edges.
*Master 9 didn't do this step, he just posed for the photo*
But he did stack them for me....
Hand sew the stack of circles and sew on a button.

I usually hot glue a piece of felt on the back but I don't have any at the moment... so, I used some denim material.
Then glue on the alligator clip....
 Wait a few minutes....
 The finished hair clip....
