 Day 3 - I made a flower slouch beanie

Flower hair pins....

Today, I made five small silk flowers... see my silk flower tutorial here.
Then I stitched and glued the flowers onto ballet pins.
 So pretty!
I made something to go with this outfit {that's why there's no full length photos}...
You'll have to pop back tomorrow ;D

Hope you had a good weekend.

Ruffle flower hair tie.....

Yesterday, I made this flower clip...
 from this shirt....
Today, I made this... from the other front panel...
First I cut the front panel into two strips.
I made a ruffle by folding and sewing, so easy {I'll take some photos next time}.
Then melted the edges over a candle.
Then rolled and stitched.  Added the second ruffle and stitched on a hair tie.
 So cute!
I've still got the back panel... Hmmm, What to make next?
Who's been crafting?
I'm looking for more photos for the next 'You've been featured' post.

Another flower clip....

Sunday night already?  Where did the weekend go????

I had a spare half an hour this arvo, so I whipped up this grey flower clip.
I made the flower from my old shirt.  The material is horrible!
When I'd wear the shirt, it would become static and stick to my skin.... but it makes cute flower clips.
Here's what was left after I finished the flower...
Check out my Silk flower tutorial to see how to make the petals.
To make this flower...
I cut about 15 circles the same size and 4 slightly smaller ones for the center.
Then melted the edges above a candle.
I stitched 6 petals, fanned out to make the first layer.
Then kept adding petals to fill in the gaps, stitch in place.
The slightly smaller ones were added last {helps hid any messy hand sewing ;) }.
Then I sewed on three pearl buttons and glued on an alligator clip.
It makes it look like a real flower... I love it!
What do you think?
Hope you had a wonderful weekend.

You've been featured #4... Hair clips....

Cherie's been making these beautiful hair accessories...

Leah and Sarah have been making these beautiful clips.....

Janine made Miss H this beautiful clip...

Thanks everyone who emailed me photos.

I've also had a few emails about the towels and hair towels.
I didn't end up making the towels for Easter... I just ran out of time.
I have four days off this weekend, so I'll put together a tutorial over the weekend.

Easter Bunny Hair clips....

It's Easter craft time!
Easter Bunny hair clips... your little {or big} girl will love them.
Step 1 -  Cut four felt ears.
Step 2 - Cut two 'inner ear' shapes from contrasting material and sew onto two of the white felt ears.
Step 3 - Place the two 'right' sides together and sew around the outside of the ears.
Sorry,
I got carried away making the bunny ears and forgot to take a photo of each step.

Step 4 -  Invert back to the right side.  Fold the ends forward and stitch {helps give the ears a nice shape}.
Step 5 - Make a bow out of matching ribbon and sew on a flower.
Step 6 - Hot glue and hand stitch onto a snap hair clip.
They are so cute!  Miss 6 loves them.

Lace hair clip....

Yesterday, I made this lace clip for Miss 6.
When I started making the hair clip, I was going to a double layer of lace.
But decided it looked better as a single layer... I'm going to make another clip, with one less petal.
Step 1 - cut a small felt circle.
Step 2 - hand sew lace..... I folded lace to give a 3D look.
Step 3 - To finish off the middle of the flower, I cut off one piece of lace and sewed on pearl button.
Step 4 - Hot glue a large bobby pin and felt.
My next feature post is going to feature your hair clips.  Email photos or links to your blog post to mummysdress@hotmail.com.
It doesn't have to be from one of my tutorials... just any hair clips you've made.
