Todays outfit is a dress made out of a bandana. It should be called the 15 minute dress... so quick and easy.
I've had heaps of comments from friends saying that they're not a good enough sewer to make/upcycle kids clothes... if you can sew a straight line, you can make clothes.
So this is an illustration for Kelly and Sarah {Hi guys}.

So this is an illustration for Kelly and Sarah {Hi guys}.
Step 1 - iron bandana's {which I didn't do before taking the photo}
Step 2 - place the two right sides facing each other. Pin together at the sides and sew.
Step 3 - Fold down the top {make sure the 100% cotton writing is at the top}, iron and sew.
Step 4 - Thread elastic.
Step 5 - Attach x2 one metre ribbon at the front and sew a loop at the back.
Step 6 - Thread ribbon.
Make a bow.
So, that's how you turn a square bandana into a dress in less than 15 minutes.
The kids are now on school holidays... Woo hoo!
But, I still have to work :(

Nikki, that is so cute. It would take me longer than that to thread the machine.
That's a great idea. I'm thinking I could make tops like that with my fabric scraps by adding one more step to hem the edges of the squares. Thanks!
This is SO SO cute...way to go! I might even give it a try! ;D
